Bio
Hi, My name is Cori Gianniny I was born on July 1oth 1994 in Madison Wisconsin. I have lived there, in Idaho, Pennsylvania and now Colorado. I moved to Durango when I was 5 and have lived here ever since. I love most forms of art and tend to express myself through these in all areas of my life. Some of the areas that I am really interested in pursuing and exploring more are photography, drawing, abstract art, and three-dimensional art pieces. I have done a large number of projects at Animas in which I have had fairly large and or complex three-dimensional art and I wish I had even more of an opportunity to do installations and extremely interactive and visually captivating pieces. I look forward to exploring this throughout the remainder of my high school career, college career, and the rest of my life. I am especially passionate about visual arts and poetry, and pushing my own limits through my work. I also love cooking, music, SCUBA diving, traveling, my amazing friends and family and I try to be the best person I can be.
I am currently a junior at Animas High School in Durango Colorado. I have attended Animas for my entire High School career thus far. I chose Animas High School over traditional public school because I really enjoy being able to convey what I learn via art and other creative means. The project based concept for Animas has really helped me to succeed in my work and do some really amazing and meaningful learning through my projects and overall experience here. Every year that I continue my learning at Animas I gain more and more amazing experiences and unique learning opportunities. I have been able to take a huge amount of relevant material from my classes and apply them in other areas of my life as well as other areas of school.
I have had a multitude of opportunities and wonderful learning experiences through Animas that have allowed me to excel here and in other areas of my life. When I was a Freshman I received presidential acknowledgement for having high grades all year. Freshman and Sophomore year I had the opportunity to be a student ambassador and do things such as giving tours of the school and helping with fundraisers for Animas. I have had some other wonderful experiences through Animas such as exhibiting a painting that I did at an event downtown Sophomore year and currently I am looking forward to doing an internship in March at the Open Shutter Gallery in Durango.
